KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) -- Jamaica's national soccer team has dropped forward Walter Boyd as the 23-man squad prepares for its World Cup qualifier against Mexico on September 2.
Boyd was recalled in July for friendly matches against Cuba, Martinique, St. Kitts and Nevis and Grenada after an eight-month absence from international soccer.
**"It was nothing personal against him but what he showed on the Caribbean tour was not enough to get him into the team," coach Clovis de Oliveira said Sunday.**
During a match with St. Kitts, Boyd was involved in an on-field confrontation with the assistant referee. Boyd was left off the Reggae Boyz squad for its game against his former British club team, Swansea City.
Jamaica's team will begin training Monday for its match against Mexico.

That's all it said in the article. It did not mention the 23 man squad. Does anybody know the squad?

Boyd can't make the local side squad over Fabian Taylor!!!! This must be an all-time low for the Pearl.
The question for Boyd now is 'What now?'
Where does he go from here?
It seems like the JFF rescued Boyd by getting the charges against him dropped as well as preventing him from getting locked up.
Shatta we need to hear your take on this....

I am busy composing my reply to soupbone on the JFF issue so let me take some time to say that unfortunately we saw this coming a while ago.
Boyd was recalled for the Swansea trip and he has served his purpose. How ironic that a week ago an obviously injured Boyd was hurriedly flown to Swansea when it was apparent that the tickets weren't selling well.
Anyway to be honest right now I am more worried about our preparation and would trade Boyd for at least 2 quality games. I fear we are depending on faith and prayer.

hi, formites, Can someone tell the TD that this is not the time for the him to bring in new unproven faces, The bulk of players such include those overseas players and the best of the young reggaebabies. This is where The TD is making his biggest mistake. This is not the time to try unproven players, he is a nut.

de man a try say bring back tegat davis....naw just playing.
But him have a point still.
The squad always look young 3 weeks before the match and then everybody get drop and the bigger heads come in with no cohesiveness.
