the man biting the hand that feeding him. I think by now certain proffessional especially english footballers would know that the media does not help their cause when the cry like this. He is just pushing himself out of favour with management. I want the best for hayles, but he should let his boots do the talking and not his mouth. Not every many premiership clubs cater to his style of play. Hayles points are true but to use the media to get heard is the wrong move that is just going to cause trouble in the camp.
Hayles knocks Fulham again MICHAEL SIVA Friday, April 19, 2002
London -- Jamaican international, Barry Hayles, has again expressed a desire to leave Fulham, after being used as a late substitute in his club's 1-0 loss to neighbours, Chelsea, in the FA Cup semifinals last weekend.
"I'm the leading scorer at Fulham this season, and I'll have to consider my position if I'm continually left on the bench," Hayles told the Metro newspaper.
"I was unhappy at being left on the bench until just four minutes from the end. Everyone wants to play in big games like this and I'm no different, so to be given so little chance to show what I can do was a big blow."
The 29 year-old Jamaican striker criticised Fulham manager, Jean Tigana, for leaving him out of the starting team in recent Premiership matches.
Tigana, the former French international, has spent a lot of money on the transfer market looking to boost Fulham's goal-scoring power.

Hayles scores as Fulham survive FOOTBALL -- English Premiership MICHAEL SIVA Thursday, April 25, 2002
Barry Hayles London -- Jamaican international, Barry Hayles netted in the 76th minute as Fulham beat Bolton Wanderers 3-0 to guarantee their survival in the English Premiership at Craven Cottage on Tuesday night.
Back in favour with Fulham manager, Jean Tigana, Hayles hit the crossbar from a pass by Louis Saha six minutes before the interval and eventually found the back of the net -- following goals by Bjarne Goldbaek and Steve Marlet -- when he latched onto a pass by Steed Malbranque and hit powerfully past Jussi Jaaskelainen from 12 yards.
The result carried Fulham to 43 points and mid-table with just two games to go, and out-of-range of third-from- bottom, Ipswich.
Bolton, who played without injured Gardner, are still in relative trouble on 40 points, also with two games in hand.
Gardner is out with a hamstring injury, while fellow Jamaican midfielder, Jermaine Johnson has not been utilised by manager, Sam Allardyce, in recent games. Meanwhile, figures released by Fulham have indicated that the London club is now £23 million in the red, sparking speculation that they may be forced to sell players next season.
Meanwhile, first division Watford may put former Jamaican international, Marcus Gayle up for sale after they failed to secure promotion to the Premiership.
Operating costs reportedly rose by £4-million, but the team finished a disappointing 14th in the league, and manager, Gianluca Vialli, is likely to be ordered to axe high-earners such as Gayle and Ramon Vega.
"Our situation is uncertain, but I am not entitled to discuss our finances," Vialli said. "If the worst comes to the worst, we have players clubs would want and I'm not worried."
Gayle was signed for £900,000, but finished the season with a disappointing seven goals. Vialli took over the manager's job from Graham Taylor in June.

Frankly I never knew how Gayle did get no rating in the first place. In the 14 years he played, he averaged less than 4.5 goals per year. He eked out more than 6 goals in the EPL on only two occasions--NEVER having scored more than 10 (he managed to hit 10 one year).
I did like Burton better, but talk about chilling out....
Hayles scored nuff at all levels once he was converted from defender to forward.
Him already approaching ricketts number for the year if him don't pass it already.
