No, its not a joke. Its straight from the horses mouth. Junior as most people know him as has not accepted invites from both countries as of yet but is leaning towards Jamaica. His family (father) has much of a grudge against the OSA because David was cut from the u14 Team Ontario when he was 13 for being under age because parents where complained and politics prevailed again in Canada. So he is very reluctant to play for Canada... I'm not really discussing it so you can rebuttle what ever you must or feel like but you'll see when it happens. http://www.canadian-soccer.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=18058

Total different situation from Andy.
I think Ontario has a problem, seems like a lot of kids are being passed over for less talented "canucks" -- some Jamaican parents are not too keen on putting their kids through the b.s. from what I understand a lot of times its who you are, more than how good you are.

He scored a wonderful goal on Jan. 23, 2011 for Blackburn. He is leaning towards Canada but he is not committed to either country until after the 2011 Gold Cup. If he appears for either Canada or Jamaica in the 2011 Gold Cup, he can not change again.
Cho, we won't loose sleep over him; my advice to him The R'Boyz on the rise, be a part of it or we'll be leaving you and Canada behind.
We stock at forwards anyway and we won't miss a beat if yu dwo choose the R'Boyz.
I don't see how him will choose R'Boyz over Canada the place of his birth. Unless there's an innate connection to Jamaica I don't see him coming to us....

That's what everyone said about Teal Bunbury before he decided to play for the U.S. Bunbury did live in the U.S. for some time, but he is still fully Canadian in blood and simply decided to play for the U.S. presumably because their future looks more promising (in general and for him, personally). Obviously, they are somewhat different situations, but Holiett actually has some Jamaican blood in him, and as we said, JA looks to be on the rise, Canada doesn't. Still agree he'll probably end up playing for Canada, but you never know until you know.

just like Hines, if he has the talent to play in the EPL and is eligible for a Jamaican passport, we should at least give him a look and a chance but NO begging.
------------- FYI,Bunbury's mother is 100% American and Teal has lived in Minnesota, USA since he was 10 years old. Also, he has NO Canadian blood, since his father was born in Guyana, however raised in Montreal.
