JERMAINE JOHNSON crowned a man-of-the-match performance with the winning goal as Bolton Wanderers reserves beat Everton 2-1 at the Reebok Stadium. The Jamaican international will surely have impressed watching manager Sam Allardyce with his all-round attacking display.
Wanderers had fallen behind when Leon Osman capitalised on a blunder by Nicky Southall.
The Wanderers player, who started as a centre-back, lost control of the ball when he attempted to clear it. Osman took a kick in the face when he challenged Southall before sliding the ball past debutant Jeff Cassar in the Wanderers goal.
However, Wanderers equalised on the stroke of half-time when Michael Ricketts had his shirt pulled in the penalty area.
He took the penalty with a shuffling run-up before confidently placing the shot past former Oldham ‘keeper Paul Gerrard to put the Wanderers level before the break.
Before the re-start, Wanderers took off first-teamers Ricketts, Per Frandsen and Anthony Barness.
Johnson appeared to be on top of his game and almost put Wanderers in front when he cut in from the right and unleashed a powerful shot. However, is effort came back off the upright. The winger wasn’t to give up and it was a sense of inevitability when he notched his second goal of the campaign for the second-string. On 77 minutes he received the ball on the edge of the area and whacked a strong right-footer goalwards, the ball took a wicked defelection off England U20 captain Peter Clarke before nestling in Gerrard’s nets.

Hey Guys JJ was on a 3 match ban, he got red carded for kicking Diego Forlan in a reserve game thats why he was not playing. As far as i can see JJ's development is a priority and they wont not rush him.
Regards

The development seems to be paying off, after this "Man-of-the-Match" performance. Let's hope he at least makes the bench against Ipswich this Saturday.
I wish I'd gone to the reserve game now instead of watching Liverpool's boring Champions League game on TV! Ah well...

Ricketts on target in reserve win ^top Michael Ricketts scored his first goal since mid-January to help Bolton move a step closer to the FA Premier Reserve League title last night.
The Trotters' top scorer was on target from the penalty spot in a 2-1 victory over Everton at the Reebok after being brought down in the area himself. Jamaican international Jermaine Johnson capped an excellent display to score Bolton's winner 12 minutes from the end, albeit helped by a big deflection. Johnson has not featured in the first team since being sent-off in a reserve match against Manchester United. But he's turned in some fine performances since and could force his way back into contention for Saturday's vital game with Ipswich Town. Bolton, beaten 2-1 by Everton earlier in the season, had fallen behind when Leon Osman seized on a mistake by stand-in centre half Nicky Southall. Osman punished the error to score past American keeper Jeff Cassar, who was making his Wanderers debut. Ricketts was among several first teamers substituted at half-time with Saturday's game against Ipswich in mind.

Sorry to keep you waiting boys, had to stay in Manchester on Thursday for a conference.
JJ was all that and then some, but i don't think he'll get a first team place this season until prem. status is assured and then some. 2 more wins and hopefully he'll get his chance when points aren't as important (vs Arsenal or West Ham, hopefully!).
Assasin, unfortunately i wasn't lost in any crowd, Bibi's betrayed me :-( he was at the game with his brother and his bird (a very attractive young lady, i can't possibly compete!!) he was also with another bloke, i don't recognise him as one of Bibi's brothers or friends who usually watch Bolton, maybe another reggae-boy on trial?!
Carl Brown was also there and clearly v. impressed with JJ's performance.
After Wednesday's performance you should be thankful that Ricketts didn't choose JA! He was useless and it wasn't like he didn't try, if he'd have been a trialist we'd have sent him back straight away, if he wasn't a regular 1st teamer his substitution would have been more about his performance than tomorrows game!!
