BOSS: WE STILL HAVEN'T SEEN THE BEST OF LOWE'
If anybody needed a clearer indication of the quality of Diamonds striker Onandi Lowe then his performance in today’s marvellous 4-1 victory against Mansfield Town just showed why boss Brian Talbot wanted to snap him up this season.
The Jamaican international single handily ripped through the Mansfield defence to score a memorable hat-trick, the first player to score three goals in a match for Diamonds in the Football League.
It was a tremendous performance from Lowe and the rest of the Diamonds squad but amazingly Brian believes that we still have yet to see the best from the Jamaican international striker.
“Onandi Lowe was superb today,” admitted Brian. “He has a terrific left foot on him and his right foot wasn’t too bad either today. He is a nice lad and he is trying to make a living in English football and he is going about it in the right way.
“I still think we still have yet to see the best from Onandi. He is still not 100 per cent fit in terms of stamina and playing for 90 minutes. He really has adapted to the way we play and he is outstanding. He is keen to be in England and what better way to start then with us.”
But along with his performance, the Diamonds boss was quick to praise the entire squad for their professional display against a team who were undefeated at home this year.
Paul Hall was outstanding down the right-flank, Mark Peters enjoyed a successful return to Field Mill while Brett Angell marked his debut for the club with a well deserved goal.
And Brian has once again singled out how far his new look squad has come in a short space of time.
Brian continued: “It goes without saying that my players were excellent today and I have been saying for the last few weeks now that I wish I had this team right at the beginning of the season.
“Today has proved that we are a very good team now and we are a match for anybody. We will lose games at times but we have a good honest bunch of lads who all work very hard.
“I said to people at the beginning of the season that I misjudged it and we didn’t have good enough players. But we have changed it around and that has been very hard work.
“Thankfully it has all turned out to be for the better. I think some people thought I was stupid but in the finish it has worked out well and I am delighted with the way this team has come together.”
The only sad news about today’s performance was the withdrawal of Duane Darby. The striker had to be carried off and left the field in a wheelchair after twisting his ankle.
He later hobbled onto the team coach on crutches and the striker has been immediately ruled out of Monday’s Easter clash against Swansea City at Nene Park.
Brian concluded: “I think Duane will be out for Monday because he has twisted his ankle. It has really swollen up and he is now on crutches. He will have to keep the weight off it but he has no chance off being ready for Swansea.”

Hear wha mi wish im the best and hope that this time he keeps a level head and progress.
We all know that how he starts out but as the fruit is ripe, he does something way out on a tangent.
I hope he has learnt from his chances and mistakes and I am sending him a good vibe, beacuse he is talented and time is running out for him...nuf young youth come who shall just go straight to D1 and Prem.

Greetings to all 'ites.
Much credit to Mr. Onandi Lowe on his recently new found form;but with all due respect, gentlemen what is new ?
There is nothing new under the sun about Onandi Lowe. Did he not started out in the same way during the last world cup qualifying campaign for Jamaica, and what happened when he was needed most. When Jamaica needed that extra nudge to push them over the edge and on to Japan/ Korea this summer.
Now all I can see is a sudden emotional out pouring of people here, that's all. It is so amazing to me, the way most of us think. You will cuss a man today and praise him tomorrow for little or nothing. My opinions of Mr. Lowe remains the same. Mediocre...here today gone tomorrow. If you are to be a true professional you have to display consistency all the time, not sometimes. Just like Rene in his time had told Ricardo Fuller before he departed.
Once again, much credit to the big man and I trust that this is a new era in the on going chapter/ saga of his life. I trust that he may continue to improve;but most of all, maintain a certain form of consistency, because in todays world of football a goal today and none for the next decade can't cut it.

Take this in perspective .. It's not like this is top flight football
Last place he played top flight ball ... hmm .. I think his season total was like ... ahh .. hmmm .. 4 !!
But I guesss the defending MLS champs was a one man team and evrybody just marked Nandi and stiffle the whole team ...
