Lisbie loan bid turned down
Sheffield Wednesday have had loan bid for Kevin Lisbie rejected, even though the transfer-listed striker is not in Alan Curbishley's plans.
The youngster, who made a name for himself earlier in the season at The Valley, has fallen out of favour and Curbishley has recently favoured Jason Euell, Jonatan Johansson and Matthias Svensson in attack.
Even though Sean Bartlett has not figured recently with his injury, Lisbie has been pushed down the pecking order and has been placed on the transfer list.
But The Addicks have rejected Wednesday's approach for the striker, possibly because they want to get him off the wage bill permanently and not just on a temporary measure.
Terry Yorath is after a striker and failed in a similar bid to lure Nottingham Forest's David Johnson to Hillsborough in a season-long deal after his successful loan spell, he subsequently moved to Burnley.
He is hoping to secure a deal for a striker before Thursday's transfer deadline.
Reserves beat Leicester
Adam Nowland and Jobi McAnuff found the net but could not save the reserves from a 3-2 defeat against Leicester at Filbert Street last night.
Hesitation in the Dons penalty area allowed Jon Stevenson to give Leicester's second string the lead midway through the first-half, but Wimbledon levelled when Nowland made no mistake after being set up by the impressive Lionel Morgan.
Leicester looked set to go in at half-time ahead when Trevor Benjamin put them back in front, but the Dons equalised for the second time with a well-taken McAnuff goal.
But Matthew Heath had the final say, with his 67th minute goal giving Leicester a win they just deserved on the balance of play.
Langley happy to stay
Ian Holloway insists Richard Langley is happy at Loftus Road after the gifted midfielder was linked with a switch to Chelsea over the weekend.
The Blues have made no approach for the 22-year-old and it is hoped a takeover at Rangers will ensure the likes of Langley and Clarke Carlisle will not have to be sold.
Holloway said: "He's very happy at the club. He loves the club and he wants to stay, which is great for us.
"It's been a pleasure to see him back in action after so long out and he is a very talented player."
Tottenham were monitoring Langley very closely before he suffered cruciate knee ligament damage last year and speculation about his future when he returned to fitness was inevitable. Take from www.teamtalk.com
