I'm realy sorry to hear about Paxton's death. We actually attended XLCR during the same years. He was a catalyst guiding us to the Manning Cup in 1979. Wicked yute he was on the field. RIP PAXTON.

Sad news indeed. It might sound simple but one should not only protect the balls on a free kick but also the left side of the chest. A hard enough, kicked ball, can knock the heart out of rhythm.
Peace

he played for Real Caribe and he was also intrumental in the NY Bank league. He help to organize the Bank league every year. I often have an invitational game every year and he played last year.
Good player and he died and left a son.
Condolances to the family. Understand that his old lady is not healty either and he was the primary caretaker.

I was playing in the game with him. We were both playing forward. The defence cleared the ball and I was telling him to hustle out of the offside trap. He bent over, held his knees and before I could hold him, he was on the floor. We tried CPR for about 12 minutes until the ambulances arrived, but he still died. It's the worst feeling I have ever had in my life. Family members have died and it did not feel like this. He practically died in our hands. If any of you know this guy then you would know what I mean. If it was someone else that was down Paxton would be the man to tell us what to do. He was that type of guy, a leader. He was our captain, our coach, he carried the gears to the park, he organized the water, he organized registration of players, he planned strategy. He was that type of guy...

I know Paxton quite well and it is a tragic situation. Still cant get over it. I feel it especially for his son who was at the field and witnessed his father collapsing. The wake is this Friday at Foster-Phillips Funeral Home on Linden Blvd in Queens bet. 4-8pm. The Funeral will be on Saturday morning. Right now it is set for the funeral home but the family is trying to get a bigger venue. Once ebrything is finalized I will inform the forum but the wake is set for Friday as inidcated.
As a KC old Boy I will remember Paxton for the goal he scored against us which effectively ruined our chances of winning Manning Cup. Tha was the year Calabar won and got embarrased by Clarendon in the Olivier Shield. This was the fittest man I know, a great reader of the game and love the game to a max. He always had his gears with him and sometimes played 2 and 3 matches in one day. Will miss him.
