U were a wicked baller. Born in Jamaica. Nuff memories of your childhood and you love Jamaica. Your parents get a link for a foreign land. Hence U get a chance to play football, a game U love at the highest level.

So U R stuck with a choice of playing for your beloved country who has a proven novice administration controlling things and just dreams of making it to a world cup or your new home country that has a history of making it to the world cup and a proven professional administration.

In our own lives and careers, how many of us would really choose love and loyalty over professionalism and opportunity. Bearing in mind that a minute few get the chance these days to combine loyalty and opportunity.

If we took a poll now, it would be that 66% would play ball for Jamaica regardless the circumstances, while 33% would like us to believe they are more prudent in their choice of showing their God Given Talents...

What a thing if us as accountants, Lawyers, Doctors, Nurses, Teachers and other professions were critisized as much as when a footballer chooses to play elsewhere instead of work in Jamaica..

Why should I support mediocrity jus bcaus a loyalty
So when mi pickni dem grow up and mi tell dem how much time mi si dun pon bench fi JAM or score 2 beautiful goal inna WCup and a struggle now fi mek ends meet
no brabab

Mi a tek di golden parachute
Hone mi skill
Land a big contract inna one a dem big big Euro city
And den come a Yawd an buy out JFF(For Sale or Not For Sale), NCB and at least one parish, Who, tink mi a ramp!

at least if mi bruk mi foot at the 1st practice wid the "oppotunity team" mi pickni dem will get a likkle sumting

there is a time for hungry belly loyalty but not when only the players a get some "hurry come up pittance contract" and others a bathe
no brabab
wi greatgran slave
wi great greatgran slave
and wi fi slave one more generation
with anada set a masters who look like wi
no brabab

Look pon Hayles
JFF call im and look like dem dump im
Maybe that influenced Ricketts' decision fi play weh im born
And may influence other "born abroads" to play where dem born and others(born yah) to seek citizenships elsewhere.

Now if this forum get serious and we get a working paper on the restructuring/revamping of JFF and a well thought out 5 Year Plan the issues confronting our young guns in England, Canada and US will be no big deal

Memba - leave sumting fi u pickni dem besides them hearing "U daddy was a good loyal man and solid defender, here is a $20"

This is so easy, go where opportunites are !
Loyalty without compensation don't work partner. If that was the case, many of us professionals would still be in Jamaica.

Like Guidance seh, "play fi mi and later, nothing fi you more than, here is a $20.00 fi yuh son and off springs with much memories". That caan cut it.

Well if you substitute a regular profession for football then JT post would look something like this :

 Quote:
U are educated and very eager to gain valuable experienced (and a comfortable living) in your chosen professional career.

Born in Jamaica. Nuff memories of your childhood and you love Jamaica. Your parents get a link for a foreign land. Hence U get a chance to apply your skills, a profession you love at the highest level in a first world country.

So U R stuck with a choice of working for a company in your beloved country that does not afford you the opportunity to excel in the area where you are trained (you studied Bio-Chemistry but have to work as an insurance salesman) or your new home country that has a vast amount of opportunities for you to succeed in your chosen profession.

In our own lives and careers, how many of us would really choose love and loyalty over professionalism and opportunity. Bearing in mind that a minute few get the chance these days to combine loyalty and opportunity.

You can say yard as much as you like but are you listening to the many appeals from the Government and come back home?

No more explanation needed.

Respect to Zouse, Gigo and Soupbone!!!

Eve the drugz man and gunman dem a run wey from yard....

Its getting safer to go back but still nothing to gain...

YET!!!!!!!

Footballers in the real world have known that the World Cup is the ultimate stage but have realized long ago that the ultimate goal is to play in a proper league earning as mush as U can.

I think it time we on this site realise this also. The time for loyalty will not come for us until the next world cup campaign.

Double B, yuh have not been up to yuh usual standards recently. Can you really compare working in a profession to playing ball for your country. Firstly, playing ball for your country is not your primary source of income, just a side ting, so to speak. Mi nah go even come wid the second or third ting.

Peace

Probably because I'm not getting much sleep at nights nowadays .

JAH B, rememeber this - A garden with only one type of flowers can't look as beautiful as one that has a wide variety.

I found it very strange on this forum that once you share a different opinion from another person then all of sudden your standards start deteriorating.

If you take the time out to reread my post, you will notice that I said :

 Quote:

All I am trying to do is to put a different spin on the topic and take it one step further. I was not saying that playing football for your country and working in a profession is the same thing.

If you read between the lines of my post you will see exactly what I am saying and why I say bigup certain people.

I would like to hear what the second and third things are so that I can clarify - if at all possible!

Heh,heh, Double B Ah feel yuh pain. I just went through what you are going through with the new baby. Yuh caan tek what I said personal coz it was said in a light hearted way.
Anyway, as I saw it at the time, your substituing football for a regular profession was not a good fit as there is a different priority level on both. I now see that you were trying to make a different point.
With this in mind, I see no need to make a third or fourth point.

Peace

Well, Sean Fraser and Jeff Cunningham have lately chosen to play for the USA. John Barnes before them chose England at a time when there was no real opportunity to play for yard anyway. Has it hurt Barnes or his credibility in Jamaica? Actually many of us, myself included are calling him for him to be our TD. Playing for another country does not necessarily mean he has lost loyalty to us, I think he will rejoin our programme in some capacity provided JFF shows some signs of ambition.

Double B I'm with you all the way on your points. But it may not be irrelevant or a different point. Think of it this way, you decide to play for the US, then your club career blossoms because USSF is representing you and not JFF.

Now for all those chasing the GOLD, Rasputin, Tman, Guidance, Poisondart, tell me isn't it easier to play for a club and earn more money without affecting your right to play for your country???? Unless i'm still in kindergarden but often times i've seen some attractive millions for players "clubbing" moving around.

So if i'm a wicked baller, a young professional, born in Jamaica, and move guh foreing land the first CLUB trial i go on would be a hit for me. From there i'd command respect to the highest level, constansly being sought by the money GODS. When it's time to REPRESENT!!!!!! its back to my beloved country, JAMAICA......simple, simple....if you just want MONEY BOSS i don't see the need to sell my loyalty, next thing yuh sell yuh ... !! just for the money.

But how rich can you be in life????? There's a limit to everything on this earth, even your riches. If i'm rich enough to buy house, car, future, then any more rich dosen't matter. Not to mention the 101 million ways to get rich. But a man haffi mek him choice still, for me a YARD a dweet.

Hint: When i was young and reckless with a 1795 allegro it was fun for me to ALWAYS "**** you through my grill and spit you through my muffler" if you pick a race with me via Bog Walk gorge for example. My allegro was a 1300CC, and i normally race 1600 or 2000CC fast cars.

My Filosophy: If my allegro can do 100MPH which it easily could, then even if yours is doing 300mph then you simple cannot beat me.

WHY: Over 90mph around the first corner will land you in a tree on the other side, so there you go! Your other 210mph is practically useless, once i'm in front of you i'm done with you.....

Born in Jamaica
Love Jamaica

Last week in was in Orlando, Jesus Christ i was dying to get back home!

Tman, love mi yard and pay my rent with ease......like all my friends, probably you skipped your classes..........

So Z,
Outa Michael "AIC/NCB" Lee Chin and
Butch "Sandals/Air Ja" Stewart
who more loyal?

and stop blocking the road with dat "1795" relic(btw if u need a loan to overhaul it gi mi a ding)
I am heading for Half Moon in my 2002 Jag coupe to meet with Blatter about FIFA funding a new stadium

As per Red("until JFF shows some signs of ambition"); nuff youths will wait for a callup from ingland or US ova yard not so much for the Silver(salary) but the GOLD(world cup).
Bless Yawd
