It seems as if Simoes has a permanent appointment or he doesn't really care what happen after this campaign as long as his principles are in tact. The question is, which is more important, Rene's principles or Jamaica's qualification?
Good luck to him! He will need lots of it!
. . .I don't know if this is a discipline thing but it would be a fair guess that it is. I'm always amused by how people want to have it both ways-we complain that Jamaica's biggest problem is discipline and then when a coach takes a stand we wonder why he's putting his 'principles' above the team .

I think your reasoning makes a lot of sense Onelele. King's career is hanging in the balance right now and I can only imagine that he has to sort this out before he jets off to the Caribbean for a training camp. Reggaefan... I think you are the one panicking and not Simoes. We really should wait until we hear what JFF has to say about this before we make these speculations. I'm surprised that so many people are ready to crucify the yute because of news that he wasn't called up for a qualifier.
THE ARTICLE SAID THAT THEY CALLED WIGANS MANAGER AND HE SAID NO ONE REQUESTED KING FOR A CALLL UP AND LATER THEY ASKED SIMOES AND HE SAID THAT THEY EVERYONE WHO IS TO BE CALLED UP HAS BEEN CALLED UP ALREADY.....I DONT ITS AN ISSUE OVER HIS CONTRACT ITZ THE COACHING STAFFS PERSONAL DECSION
Jah know star, mi ben, di likkle vybz bruk anybaddy waan a ticket fi di match...A mean, Who is going to put the ball in the back of the net for us? Who is going to take one touch to control the ball, beat his marker and put the damn ball in the back of the net...Not Fuller, Not Cummings, Maybe Burton and certainly not 5 touches to control SHELTON. Come on now Simoes yuh a f**k wid man 5000 CDN dollar bet now...

If King asked Simoes/JFF to be excused from the game because of club issues and they were ok with it, why would they have to call Bruce/Wigan? Wouldn't Simoes's response to the media be the same in this case. I'm not saying you're wrong with your speculation boss. I'm just trying to say that the article does not have any strong evidence that there is a problem between JFF and King.
You guys can speculate all you want, what we are sure of is that simoes would not have at his disposal the best crop of players for this game because of club commitments, all these letters are just a part of his psychological tactics that he use on the JFF and the players who are gullible enough to buy into it.
He knows he cant have his cake and eat it, so thats that. Either win or go home. No two ways about it, but it seems like he is trying to be cute about the whole qualification process.
As it relates to King, we dont know. i know he scored against bahamas so he cant be all that bad. As for discipline only the coahing staff will know. However we must not be quick to cite his incident against boxjuice when others did the same thing. It has also been reported countless times of our local players partying before matches a certain captain included. So are we gonna say its ok for the local players to do it and not the overseas ones? If you have a principle then everyone should abide.
If a player is not willing to fit into the coaches plan he will be axed, even if the coach is doing shit, he has to just bide his time and prove himself. this goes for all players. So he wshould just concentrate on his club ball anyway.
I doubt fuller will play against canada either or even andy williams. It is obvious simoes is still assessing his player pool and wants to see if he can rely on local players to be the back bone of his team like 98 or deal with the issues of having short training camps becaus ehe is relying on overseas professional players.
Rooney and most of the big stars in the UK are known party animals...Rooney even have a gambling issue going on. I doubt seriously that those things are held agaianst them. We hear of players getting into brawls in pubs all the time in the UK...one player even walked strayight from Jail into his team for pre-season training.
We have a way of always targeting our players. Unless Simoes can come out with a clean cut reason for King's ommission, then I will take this to mean that he (Simoes) has given up the fight before he fights the first battle.
Really JRay? Better team how? Did you see the game we played in teh office vs Costa Rica? Had it not been for Kings TEAM play, we would have surely lost the game...he didnt score the goal, but it was his excellent vision that lead to the goal.
This is world cup qualifying...everyone brings back their best players...we kick out ours.
I suppose Honduras might be a better team without Suazo...or Canada a better team without DeRo...Mexico might be way better without Borgethi
i would say that this is the 1st stupid move for simoes but u what they say 3 strikes and u r out him have 2 more f******g chance so him better nuh mess up worse if jamaica nuh meck it out of this round him going to get what bora get,can anyone tell if kevin lisbie, damani ralph, and jason euell will be present for this round or the next as far as i concern lisbie, ralph and euell are the best striker even better than fuller, shelton burton and all the rest

I am not sure what the main issue is and I am just speculating but after our first leg victory in Kingston v. Bahamas, I knew there would be some casualities in the camp for whatever reason (indiscipline, unprofessionalism, etc.)
Now, aside from the UB40s from 1998 and his time in Trinidad 2002, Simoes has never coached a team with top rated professionals. He has coached the Brazilian Women's Olympic team, Vitoria SC, Iran U23s and Coritiba Serie B team but none of those squad feature top rated professionals making big money abroad. Even his Vitoria and Coritiba, Serie B squads were blue-collar local players. I fully agree with his principles and rules but his name is Simoes NOT SCOLARI.

You obviously been watchign with rose colored glasses. King is a good player but we can win without him. Too many times King seem to put himself ahead of the team - going back to 06 qual. I am not basing my comments on one game or how much goals he scores. When you look at intangibles we have players that offer more. I beleive unlike past Jamaica teams we will have our share of goals coming out of midfield and not reliant upon a "pure striker" - that my friend makes JA a better team. Please tell me what Suazo has done for Honduras, as for Borggetti you just lost your argument. Dero - you could have used a better example in JDG.

Funny thing is there is all this speculation but noone knows what is going on. Sometimes you have to watch the drama from Earl Bailey. I mean, does it sound like he got information on King directly from Simoes? Sounds like he was just connecting dots to form what may be an incomplete picture. He could be right, but ever since homeviewjamaica.com, bwoy....
Still I would not think it a great time to call King while he is in limbo.

A lie when Simoes did warn we..wi mention everybody else except King. Look at the last thing him seh di door never close so i hope NANDI deh in di GYM right now and a look fi go run some sand later.
"... These are the things we are working (on) with our players; some will be there, some will not. I will not compromise my principles in the name of a player, or the clubs or the persons who are connected to them," he said.
"We have to work as a team," Simoes declared a few days ago as he waited on his players after a practice match in which they beat Premier League team Harbour View 2-1. "I have no time to work with those who cannot fit into the unit. When I came here the first time I had enough time to make changes as we went along. On this occasion, we have to work with those who can fit into the team."
It seems jamatl hit the nail on the head, apparently he has problems coaching professionals who already have a sense of self and know how to do things, albeit a different way and not his.
Simoes wants players he can mold and who will follow his philosophy his style of playing even if they are less talented. He believes that hard work will make up for talent.
The question is, would u want ronaldinho, kaka and anderson out of your team because they already have set methods with respective coaching staffs at their clubs or a bunch of locals.
Simoes justification is weak in my opinion, the whole idea about not fitting into the unit is rubbish, every coach should know that you build on what is available, u develop strategies according to your players strengths and weaknesses, and slowly you incorporate your own style and philosophy.
This is international football not club ball where u can buy and sell players, you basically have to work with what is available.
it seems simoes is incapable of coaching professionals, he does not have good man management skills atleast in terms of established players. Atleast that was something bora could do. He prefers the unknown and young ones, that says something about a manager.
then again its all speculation right now, so i'm gonna sit back and watch the show. He better win in canada thats all i am gonna say.
