In 2001 the now 23 year old defender Craig Zaidie was invited the Reggae Boyz football camp.He rejected the offer saying that he was trying to solidify his place in the DC United line up.Zaidie now holds dual citizenship (USA/Jamaican) says that he wants to follow in the footsteps of his older brothers and play internationally some day.He might have to make that decision sooner rather than later.Jamaica is now officially in the rebuilding phase while the USA will be doing a major overhaul for 2006 with the definite departure of people like Reyna,Kellher,Freidel,Cobi Jones,Jeff Agoos,Eddie Pope,Ernie Stewart...... etc. Jamaica will also be looking to increase it's depth of young defenders and Zaidie is a decent player.I guess we will have to wait and see on May 16th to see what direction the JFF heirachy is going.Forward with promising youngsters or backwards with the old proven workhorses like Linval Dixon (31years old),Goodison (about 30),Mr Bloopers and Blunders (Frank Sinclair) etc. Will they do the brave thing and bring in a squad that will be geared towards the future? The only current defenders on the national team that fit that list are Chris Dawes,Tyrone Marshall,Marco Mcdonald,Robert Scarlett and Shavar Thomas .The JFF should be placing an emphasis on players that will be around in the next 4-6 years regardless of results. In case we forgot Jamaica's first game versus the USA under Simoes,we were beaten 3-0 but we were going in the right direction.Four years later were in the World Cup and not teams like Costa Rica that beat us 9-0 in a friendly match in Costa Rica!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YES 9-0!!!!!!!! Allow these players to make their mistakes now in these next 2 1/2 (rebuilding) years.

Well United signer Milton Reyes from Honduras to fill Zaides spot chances are his playing time will be reduced. He might want to commit to jamaica improve his game and get some seasoning. Wish all the best.

Bun a fire pon Zaide !
With his family background it's a shame he did not commit to Jamaica. His father would be ashamed of him !

Craig wants to play for US. If that is what he wants I respect his decision. He knows the problems of being US based while playing for Jamaica.
Madhu Think you overeacting. Not sure his father would be ashamed.

Fi real give him a chance to make his decision. His father would want him to be happy and leave the late Great D. Zadie from this controversy. He himself says he does not think he is ready to represent Jamaica based on his skills. Obviously, he takes his game highly and does not wish to be mediocre especially in the Jamaican fans eyes. He has his family reputation to protect without us asking or demanding it. Leave the youth alone, when he's ready he will give it 100%. Yout live yu live and love yu life!
