Hello reggaez!
I´m from Helsingborg in Sweden, where your internationel striker Luton Shelton plays. He has been a massive hit and succed here, even though he got some injury problems and missed a couple of matches.
We all are impressed over his speed, he is the fastest in the swedish league, no doubt! He is a big favourite at Olympia, our arena, not suprising thinking of what playingstyle he got; quick, technical, good header and more. The only thing he should be better at is our language
He scored 4 goals in the swedish league so far, (which is good, he have just playted 368 minutes, that is 1 goal/90 minutes), 1 in the cup (where we are pretty close the final), and 3 in trainingsmatches during the world cup.
Im very happy we signed a 3½ year contract with him recently.
We fans got two songs about him, one going "Luuuuuton, Luuuuuton", and the other one which is the most populair and a little bit ironic goes:
"Vi håller med- Luton är bättre än Chelsea", translation: "We agree- Luton is better than Chelsea". A bit ironic as I said, Luton is a small club in England in division 2 or something (and Sheltons first name), while Chelsea is the best team in Premier League. So we mean that Luton (Shelton) is better than Chelsea, get it?
Hows Lutons reputation in Jamaica. Writing much about him on the newspaper and internet?

Hi HIF, Luton is one of our most favoured footballers. He comes from the training ground of our most decorated home grown player, who is Ricardo 'Bibi' Gardner.
Luton Shelton is lightning fast, and doesn't use his speed unwittingly, which makes him absolutely dangerous. I think he needs a little more development in the lower part of his anatomy, to more complete him, and minimize injuries.
We love him in Jamaica, and hope he continues to be an immense inspiration to the many other footballers in our leagues.

HEY I AM A NEW MEMBER OF THIS FORUM BUT I AM HAPPY TO BE A MEMBER BECAUSE I AM FROM KINGSTON,JAMAICA AND I WENT TO HIGH SCHOOL WITH LUTON SHELTON AND RICARDO GARDNER.I WAS IN THE 7TH GRADE WHEN GARDNER ATTENDED AND IN THE 12TH GRADE WHEN SHELTON ATTENDED.I ALSO LIVED IN HARBOUR VIEW WITH BOTH PLAYERS.BY THE WAY WE ATTENDED WOLMER'S BOYS HIGH SCHOOL. SINCE I LEFT JAMAICA 3 YRS AGO I ONLY GOT TO SEE SHELTON PLAY ONCE {IN A FRIENDLY AGAINST GUATEMALA IN FT.LAUDERDALE} AND I KNEW HE WAS ON MTHE RIGHT PATH TO SUCCESS. Great to see the Jamaican contingent doing well in Sweden. As many have said before once ours players start looking outside of England for opportunities, they will excell.
I hope Shelton uses this opportunity to build up his lower body, because most of the reported injuries he's had are related to his legs.

And if someone else want to say or ask something to Luton, just write it here and I will try to speak to him after a training. Last week he said he is going to take a swedish driving licence and his girlfriend is coming to Sweden the 7th August (yesterday). Also noticed he speaks quiet....
The 28-year old jamaican international player Jermaine Hue signed for Mjällby AIF. The contract expire after the season and the club is working hard to get him play as soon as possible." Hue is given number 24. Mjällby AIF plays in the second swedish league, not the same as Shelton, Khari and Bennett.
I think jamaican players have been a positive effect in the swedish league. Khari Stephanson has been one of the best in his team GAIS, Bennett scored 2 goals for his new club Öster immediately, and as I said, Luton Shelton has been a massive success and one of the best signings in swedish football this year.
Im sure you also know that Luton plays with Henrik Larsson in the front. Very big signing, the biggest & best footballer in swedish history is home after 13 years!

HIF thanks 4 posting. Like Lyod says it's good to see our players going well outside England. And look at that instead of playing lower divisions in England they are playing top flight ball in Sweden and a shot at European ball. Sweden has proven to be positive, let's hope it translates well for our national team's near future. Let's hope the trend continues and that we see some local ballers around Mexico and Central America. By the way Jagga, it's nice to see good news on the homepage for a change
