Both scouted by Graham Taylor, when Barnes started is carrer at Watford, and yorke at villa.Probably the best two ballers to make an impact from the caribbean,to date.My arguement is all though Barnes has retired who do you think is/was, the more complete player.Feel free to give opinions.

I think York is the better header of the ball, but Barnes is the more complete player. Barnes gets my vote.

That's not all...
It is a fair comparison.

Yorke left Trinidad for England at the age of 16...
Barnes left Jamaica for England at the age of 13...

Yorke cannot come close to Barnes...

I have to come in on this one; we must understand that John Barnes was basically the midfield general for england. They did not want to recognise him as such and it cost England in the last W/C with Barnes.

I mean, the last world cup John played, when you look at how the side was, it was suppose to be John Barnes side. The offensive thrust was suppose to go through him, but England's coaches resisted it and it cost them. Man I was hurt. I remembered it vividly of how John's midfield prowess and command just left a stamp on the English side as if to say them, "you would do better going through me."

Even John himself realized he was the midfield general, and everytime he attempt to take up this role they shun him and it cost them. He could not be as effective as he could without this role.

There wasn't a sweeter left footer and a greater passer of the ball. He was trickiy and smart with the ball above many, and he made it look effortless. John was sweet to watch, and not because him born a yard.

Yorke was/is a great player also; Yorke a forward/midfield, John a midfielder. Obviously the man that handles the ball more often -a midfielder, will be seen the most. Nevertheless, they both were complete players. John was the greater passer.

triniman...that's pretty petty. What is the real significance of the difference between their origins.

Didn't YOU say he was already "completely developed" as a baller by the time he left JA at 13. So you are contradicting your prior statement that he was "just born in JA, that's all"

I still don't see the significance...the post is about who is better player, not who was discovered first.

TT, why you don't come pick up this bwoy, you don't see him making the whole of Trinidad look like idiot.

I understand he actually played for jamaica in a couple of friendlies...non sanctioned.

I am sure he has returned to JA triniman. I wouldn't exactly expect him to call a press conference every time him fly out though, do you?
